Phillip Grant

Phillip Grant (he/him) completed his PhD under the supervision of Dist. Prof. Dame Margaret Brimble and Dr. Daniel Furkert at the University of Auckland, NZ. Phillip’s doctoral research involved the total synthesis of leonuketal, a complex spirocyclic natural product, and the development of photochemical methods for the functionalisation of primary amines. The latter project was conducted as a visiting PhD student in the lab of Prof. Varinder Aggarwal at the University of Bristol, UK.

In late 2020, Phillip joined the lab of Prof. Nuno Maulide as a Lise Meitner postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on the development of synthetic methods and chemoenzymatic approaches to 6,8-cycloeudesmanes.

In October 2023, Phillip joined the faculty at NTU, where his lab will be focused on the development of new chemistry to access complex synthetic targets.
